Day 16: AGRA - GWALIOR
Wednesday, May 16, 2012
Ringggggggggg .... it can't be ... !!!!! Its 5 am!!! And is the alarm ringing? How???? It is true!! Today we are going to enjoy Taj Mahal in Agra, one of the seven wonders of the world, the most anticipated visit of our trip to india.
So we woke up this morning at the Jaypee Palace Hotel and almost half in dreams, we went to the Taj Mahal ticket offices, without breakfast and almost without opening our eyes.
We met Om at 5.30 in the morning and the Agra hotel is 2.5 km from the ticket office Taj Mahal, so shortly before a quarter to 6 we already had in our hands the tickets, the water bottles and the booties that they give free along with the tickets.
All this after paying 750 rupees each :))
We thought we would meet a lot more people but the truth is that this is quite quiet and that we love because we were totally convinced to meet a kilometer tail of people and have to live this visit surrounded.
We wait 5 minutes for one of the buses to take us to the entrance of the Taj Mahal, where we do a security check and then ... well what comes next is another story ...
We had seen hundreds of photos of the Taj Mahal in AgraThey had explained to us how it was, even yesterday we saw it in a spectacular sunset, but until we have not been there, we have not really seen what it was and what it means.
It certainly deserves all the compliments and phrases that have been offered, because it is truly impressive.
From there, there are plenty of words and only images remain ...
Of course, say that we have not used the booties, we wanted to feel the marble of Taj Mahal, you have to feel the Taj Mahal under your feet. A unique sensation An unrepeatable feeling.

The colors change little by little, as the sun rises and each time the image of the Taj Mahal It presents itself to us differently.
We are lucky, because although there are enough people, it does not become annoying.

Sometimes we even retrace our steps to see the views of the Taj Mahal We have left behind.
We look like children who don't want to leave something behind so we don't lose it. We would like to stay here all day.

At some point in the morning we look at the clock and see that it is more than 8.30 in the morning, we have been here for more than two and a half hours in the Taj Mahal And we haven't even noticed. Time flies by.
But despite the time it is, we decided to take another turn before saying goodbye. How farewells cost !!

We return to the Hotel of Agra to breakfast and after resting half an hour and checkout, we go straight to Agra Red Fort.
An interesting option to learn about the history of the Taj Mahal and the Red Fort is to book this tour with a guide in Spanish.
This morning is very hot, so the proposal since we arrived is not to be too long on this visit.
We pay 300 rupees per person (we don't remember that we have 50 rupees discount for having visited the same day on Taj Mahal) and there we go.
As soon as we enter, we feel the center of the “world” again, but we are not at all comfortable with this and we have to become serious again so that they leave us alone for a while and enjoy the visit alone.

We leave the Agra Red Fort around 12 in the morning and we are already on our way to Gwalior, which is our next stop at this trip to india And where will we sleep tonight
Half of the way we do asleep, but everything and with that, we realize that the road is not much better than the previous ones, there are even moments that seem to be much worse.
But we are so tired of the early morning, today we forgive everything!
We arrived at the hotel about 3 in the afternoon. Today we stay at the Usha Kiran Palace.
After lunch, a huge sandwich and a plate of pasta plus water and lemonade for 1200 rupees. I smelled the price !!! :)), we are going to rest at our “chambers”.
Today is free afternoon ... Today will be relaxing afternoon, we deserve it !!! In the trips also it is necessary to enjoy some hours of rest.
